Peter Smith, with a wealth of experience spanning several decades, brings a unique perspective to his role, having held diverse responsibilities in both sell-side sales management and corporate access, along with a background in buy-side research and portfolio management. Mr. Smith is engaged in business development in a senior capacity and in the firm’s broader client relationship initiative. Since joining Rose & Company in 2018, he has overseen relationships with some of the firm’s largest market-cap companies, providing invaluable strategic guidance and support. 

Prior to joining Rose & Company, Mr. Smith worked at Barclays, where he served as Managing Director, U.S Head of Institutional Corporate Marketing and most recently as a Senior Relationship Manager. In that capacity, he was responsible for developing and managing corporate relationships as well as overseeing the firm’s U.S. based dedicated sector teams. Mr. Smith was also equity liaison to the NYSE based Barclays Market Makers unit. Mr. Smith joined Barclays following the firm’s acquisition of Lehman Brothers in 2009. At Lehman, he was elected Managing Director in 2001 and jointly managed the firm’s New York institutional equity sales desk while overseeing the equity desk’s initial corporate access efforts. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers in 1997, he served as Senior Vice President in the institutional equity sales group for Dean Witter Reynolds and was a member of the firm’s Stock Selection Committee. A highly experienced financial services professional, Peter Smith started his Wall Street career as an equity research analyst at J&W Seligman and Co. where he was also liaison to the firm’s private wealth management group.

  • Holds series 7, 63, 9 and 10 brokerage licenses.
  • Previous member of the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) as Senior Analyst.
